I would never judge anyone who did. For some, post-JW life is unbearably lonely, and all the advice you might get on this board about how you 'just need to get out there and meet people!' doesn't necessarily fit everyone's personality type and/or circumstances.

Are there people who have returned
by His Excellency inconsidering all the consequences of leaving the organization (especially the loss of family), some who have already known ttat have decided to return and continue with the flow just to keep their families and friend.. my question is if anyone here had tried it and how they have been managing living a lie constantly day-after-day?, as i am seriously considering returnning back to the full routine..

The antidote to the myth that JWs are declining
by slimboyfat inone of the most persistent myths on this website is that jws are already in decline, the rot has set in, and the descent of the watchtower is inevitable from here on in.
unfortunately the facts do not bear this out.
jws are still increasing even in most developing countries, and they are still growing worldwide at a faster rate than the general population.

"People want to be told what to do so badly that they'll listen to anyone." - Don Draper
Here's how i view the growth of groups like JWs and Pentecostals in developing countries (btw Pentecostalism is growing more rapidly than JWism is in the developing world):
1) Life in these countries is miserable for the vast majority, beyond what we care to know or imagine. There's about a billion haves and about 6 billion have-nots in the world.
2) JWism and Pentecostalism bring a measure of joy and comfort, in their own weird ways, to otherwise joyless and comfortless lives.
3) The old-time churches don't offer the near the same levels of involvement, identity, and certainty that JWs and Pentecostals do, and have much more imperialist baggage associated with them.
4) Few people in developing lands are literate enough or have enough access to information to be able to see through the shallow propaganda of JW publications.
I don't see JWism going away anytime soon. And yes, that is very sad.

Brothers told to pack an "Armagedon survival bag."...bid gossip in Aust!
by Witness 007 inso my mum excitedly calls and tells me how the brothers are now told to pack a survival emergency bag, so the tribulation is coming!!!
talk about clutching at straws.
shes packed her bible of course and the some non essential stuff like food...he he.

Judging by the armageddon depiction illustrations from Watchower's past, I'd say that said survival bag should include a titanium umbrella to shield against the fireballs raining down from the sky, and grappling hooks and rope to escape from the massive cracks in the earth.

What May Happen Next In The World
by metatron inas i've said before, things are getting weird across the world.
i believe it is possible to predict what happens next.. there is a "cabal", the rich and powerful, the big banks, the bilderbergs, the "1%".
and they are in trouble.. like wolves who have run out of prey, they have run out of assets to steal.

Judicial Meeting
by Kool Jo inso here you are...sitting with a couple of elders at judicial meeting, and you're asked the following question:.
"do you still believe that the fds is the channel that jehovah is using"?.
now is it possible to answer 'no' without being df, or how would you answer that question?.
-
fresh prince of ohio
No, it's not possible to answer that question with a no and not get df'd.
So if I were in this situation and I didn't want to get df'd, for whatever reason, I'd lie and say yes. Given how massively deceptive the bOrg is, and how hateful they are towards dissenters, I'd have no problems lying to them.
I wouldn't be able to resist doing up the lie really big though, just to mess with them. "Do i still believe that the FDS is the channel that Jehovah is using? Oh my GOD YES!!!! I believe it so much it's not even FUNNY! It's all I ever think about!"

Should I just DA or get DFD?
by Julia Orwell inmy never-a-jw dad told me today that mongrel jws who turn on me were never truly my friends and i'm better off without them, so why worry if i get disfellowshiped?.
i fear being disfellowshiped because my name will be dragged through the mud.
i also think it might be a good idea to da or get dfd because then the link is broken and the fade is over.

I da'd (in 2002, when they still announced it as such) in somewhat spectacular fashion by first emailing like 100 JWs I knew with a link to freeminds.org as the subject and no body, followed by a one-sentence letter to the cong I had been attending. I've had mixed feelings about it in recent years. I feel like it would have been way cooler to pull off a fade, and I was in the perfect position to do it. But at the same time, there's the whole aspect of seeing them out in public and having to deal with that. Some of us just need a clean break. I wish you the best, whatever you decide.

Many ex-JWs have never read Combating Cult Mind Control
by Londo111 inthe general public knows far too little about cults and mind control...and this is reflective of many ex-jws as well.
when i meet up with former jws, either in person or on the phone, im surprised that the majority have never read combating cult mind control.
of course, i am sure many former jws do not want to read yet another publication.

I often see signs of latent indoctrination: Fear of Armageddon, fear of ex-members
Man, intellectually i am so over it, and I've been out now longer than I was even in it, but, emotionally speaking, for me the above is so true. Sad!
